Adventureland Disneyland Kid Approved Fun
Adventureland in Disneyland has to be one of the best places to let your imagination run wild. The life size Tarzan Treehouse is something everyone should experience at least once in a life time. I bought our family tickets last summer at a discount with the park hopper option and I was so glad that I did. The park hopper option allowed us to go from Disneyland Park to Disneyland California Adventure Park in the same day with the same pass. At first, I was unsure of the trip but after we went I knew we didn’t go wrong, my kids are still talking about it.
Most of our time was spent in Adventureland, my boys ages 5 and 7 were fascinated with the 80ft. Treehouse known as Tarzan’s Tree house. They were both already fans of the movie and what little boy doesn’t like a huge tree house. The view from the tree is nothing to be ashamed of either and it is surrounded with beautiful African foliage. It took me forever to drag them away to experience other things the park had to offer, I consider that to be an excellent kid rating.
Adventureland was actually started with the intent to show off African and Asian Jungles and what they inhabited. The tree house now known as Tarzan’s actually started based on the Swiss Family Robinson in the 60’s and was later remodeled to resemble the Tarzan movie. Adventureland included a pirate endeavor which is always a favorite with boys.
The tree house is not the only attraction in Adventureland, the second on our list was the Jungle Cruise. Here we were able to take a boat and tour through the original African plan that Walt had wanted in the beginning for Adventureland. The boys loved this as well and were bouncing up and down in the seat as the tour guide led us through the jungle.
The last adventure we hit before heading out was the Magic Carpets of Aladdin and it was awesome as well. We got to ride the carpets which had a spectacular view of the park, too. The shops and everything in this section made us feel just like we were in the Disney movie Aladdin. Aladdin is another that was perfect because the boys were very familiar with it and excited they understood.
The rides in Adventureland were all great for my five year old and my mother. After all this we skipped over to California Adventure Park for my husband to enjoy a few rides of his own which put our park hopper to good use.
When visiting Disney Adventureland I definitely recommend the following:
- Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse (Tarzan’s)
- The Jungle Cruise
- Magic Carpets of Aladdin
- Pirates of the Caribbean
